This suggestion was given to me a couple months ago and I have been excited to try it. I think September is the month for: WHOOPIE PIES!
What do you think? I'm pretty excited. I have wanted to try making them for awhile and have never gotten around to doing so. There's a recipe in my cookbook "Baked" that is definitely going on my list of possibilites for the month. I also know there's a cookbook out there called "Whoopie Pies: Dozens of Mix 'Em, Match 'Em, Eat 'Em Up Recipes" which is simply chock full of cookie/cake and filling recipes to mix and match. Seems like you have lots of possibilities out there, so I'm excited to hear and see what you come up with! Here are just two to get you started...
