Monday Musings: Part Four

IT'S A BOY!!!!

We went to our first ultrasound last week and found out we're going to be having a little boy. I was (am) absolutely thrilled! I couldn't help but smile all day long! The technician said everything is right on track for being 18 weeks, there are two arms and two legs, we heard his heartbeat -- 157 bpm, and got to see him move. It was so awesome to get to take a peek inside just to make sure everything is healthy and safe. I can't imagine what it was like 20+ years ago... I guess you just had to trust that everything was ok and 9 months later you'd find out. I am truly thankful for the advances we have made in technology.

Here were some of my first thoughts when I found out...
  • He can be in Boy Scouts with his dad!
  • I can make him lots of food when he's older and he'll gladly eat it all :o)
  • I'm excited to see if his hair is as curly as Lovebug's!

There were more racing through my head at the time, but I was kind of all over the place that day. After the technician printed off a few pictures for us, we went to Five Guys Burgers. We had been wanting to try it and never had --- it was AWESOME! Cheeseburger and Fries? I can hardly think of a better celebration lunch for welcoming a little boy into this world ;O) Then we stopped by Buy Buy Baby and picked up his first outfit -- a little black tuxedo onesie! It was absolutely adorable. We saw several outfits around the store that were cute and probably better suited to him being born in the winter, but I just kept coming back to this one and decided I couldn't leave the store without it.

Oh, and the next question everyone is already asking us... what will his name be? It's Ezekiel. We'll call him Zeke for short. The middle name is TBA -- no, that's not literally his name, do you think we'd give our son initials for his middle name?!?! You're going to have to wait for it :o)

I hope you have a Happy Labor Day. For the first time since April (I believe) we have the windows open and air conditioning off. It's wonderful to feel the cool breeze come in and actually want to spend time outside again! We'll see what kind of adventures this day holds for the three of us!

To life... full of planning for Baby Zeke's arrival!
