Six Months

Levi -- you are 6 months old! What a joy and blessing you are! Here's what you've been up to this month. 

It's hard to take a clear picture when you're always moving! But you had such a great smile in this one. (6/17)

- Food. You are greatly enjoying it! Most days consist of oatmeal and fruit for breakfast, and then an assortment of any of the following: bananas, avocados, black beans, mashed potatoes, various vegetables. New foods you've tried: mango, ice cream, pumpkin muffins, and probably several other random things. You also prefer drinking your water out of an open glass than a sippy cup. You continue to nurse 6-7 times each day. 

- You are a pretty good sleeper. On a "typical" night you go to bed between 8-8:30 pm, wake up around 11 pm, and then up again around 5:30-6:00 am, and at least half of the time you go back to sleep for another hour or two. I think this is great! Naps are happening throughout the day, but nothing set in stone yet. 

Smiling and watching your big brother (5/26)

- Today at the doctor you weighed 16 lbs. 6 oz. and are 27.5 in. long. You are wearing mostly 6 month clothes. I had to go through and get out another set of socks because most of the ones I had out are getting too small.

- You are moving! Not only are you rolling wherever you want to go, you have just started getting up on your toes and pushing/lunging forward. Nothing is safe anymore! Time to vacuum more often and keep stuff off the floor because the things you see and want, you go get!

- You are reaching out and touching our faces. And you pat things with your hands -- arms, your bumbo, and more. You are sitting up well in your bumbo and jumping often in your jumperoo! When Daddy turns on his music, it seems you are already bouncing to the beat!

- You enjoy being outside. You notice Dora walking around the house. You notice when we leave the room now and sometimes you cry when you realize you are alone. You can entertain yourself for several minutes at a time.

I think little boys wearing hats are adorable!

- You are drooling like crazy and chew on most everything! When will you get your first tooth?

- You do pretty well in the car. You have started to play with the pull toys hanging from your car seat. You fall asleep often and are happy in your seat for the most part.

Levi, you are such a fun-loving little boy! You smile and laugh easily. I hope this is a trait that sticks with you as you grow. These last 6 months have been so much fun. Having two boys is such a blessing! I love you!
